Katy and Ryan got married at the stunning Hartlebury Castle on 16th May 2026, and it’s one of those weddings that reminds you why this job is so special.
Wedding at Hartlebury Castle
Hartlebury Castle gave us plenty to work with in terms of stunning backdrops, it’s a beautiful piece of history right on my doorstep, though I shamefully hadn’t visited before.
Katy & Ryan opted for the Mercury package from our Wedding Photography Packages which is 4 hours of coverage starting 30 minutes before the Ceremony. If you’re weighing up how much coverage you actually need for your own Hartlebury Castle wedding, Katy and Ryan’s day is a good example of what four focused hours can capture.
The Dress and The Flowers
Katy looked incredible in a gold beaded Karen Millen dress, the kind of dress that photographs differently every time the light catches it. The flowers, courtesy of Belinda’s Forever Bouquets, were some of the prettiest I’ve shot in a while, wonderful attention to detail there and Ryan looked extra-dapper in his suit. The ceremony and reception room were incredible, so grand, light and regal, the perfect setting for a wedding.
Dogs, Naturally
There were dogs everywhere too, which, if you’ve read any of our other posts or see our Pet Photoshoots over at Daniel James Photography, you’ll know this is very much a highlight for me. A wedding with dogs running about is a wedding that’s already relaxed, and that shows in the photos.
A Small World Moment
One of my favourite moments from the day had nothing to do with the photography at all. The registrar turned out to know Ryan from when he was growing up, one of those proper small-world coincidences that made the ceremony feel even more personal.
What Katy Said
Here’s what Katy had to say afterwards:
“Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much, chuffed to bits (and you’ve made me cry multiple times) with them all.”
Honestly, that’s the reaction I’m always hoping for. If a gallery makes someone cry happy tears looking back at their own wedding day, that’s the job done properly.
Huge congratulations again to Katy and Ryan. Thank you for having me along for the day.
