It was a beautiful Sunday morning when I met Emily and Dave at the base of Kinver Edge. To say they were a little nervous about their engagement shoot would be an understatement but truthfully, once the camera was on them the nerves didn’t show.
We began with a stroll through one of my favourite woodland trails, allowing me to put some out of focus forest behind and fern in front to frame the photos and really embody the natural surroundings within the images.
By the time we reached the winding paths that snake up Kinver Edge, it felt like they were completely at ease. After some photos resting on a large fallen tree we continued up to the top of the Edge which can be a climb but trust me, it’s worth every step.
When we finally emerged above the treeline, the panorama was simply breathtaking. You could see Kinver village in all its glory, making for another beautiful background for some big-cuddle loved-up photographs. A careful descent back to the main grasslands and a stop for some photographs resting on a gate, again varying up the background and posing elements to give a good selection for Emily and Dave to choose from.
The last but one stop for some photographs is one of my favourite places to capture everything from couples to families, it’s on the edge of a big hill that is surrounded by big trees and provides the perfect setup for a silhouette, in this case a tender kiss between Emily and Dave.
A final set of shots of the happy couple walking towards the camera giggling and chuckling and that was a wrap. I had lots of fun photographing Dave & Emily and can’t wait to capture their wedding day later in the year.
