Here comes the sun ….. ah no, actually that’s more like threatening rain clouds … never mind though, the show must go on!
Mary and John got married back in February this year at the beautiful St Peters Church in Kinver, one of my very favourite churches to photograph weddings at (it’s literally just up the road from my shop in the my hometown of Kinver). This church truly is stunning inside with a grand and awe inspiring stained glass window as its centrepiece which always makes for a fantastic backdrop during the wedding vows.
A lovely intimate wedding with just a few important family and friends made the wedding all the more special for the couple with John so keen to say ‘I Do’ and marry the lovely Mary he jumped ahead of the vicar before it was his turn.
After a small downpour and high winds trying to steal Mary’s veil, the weather finally calmed enough to get a few photographs of the happy couple overlooking Kinver village before I jumped in the car and headed over to Harvington Hall in Harvington near Kidderminster in the West Midlands.
Harvington Hall is a little hidden treasure, tucked away off the main road this former Elizabethan Manor House was built during the 1590’s and is filled with all kinds of interesting architecture, including the grand staircase which I felt needed to be a part of the couples photographs to really tie in the venue. It is open to the public and can be hired for functions such as weddings and is well worth a visit.
Thankfully the weather even held up long enough for some outdoor photographs on the bridge of the bride and groom and at the entrance as well as a few group photographs inside.
Congratulations to Mary & John, thank you for making me a part of your special day and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
