Engagement Shoot at Kinver Edge with Sophie, Kerry, their Son, and Pups
I recently had the pleasure of capturing some beautiful moments for Sophie and Kerry during their engagement photo shoot at Kinver Edge. If you’ve never been, Kinver Edge is a stunning area of natural beauty, with its sprawling woodlands, dramatic sandstone rock faces, and panoramic views that stretch for miles. It’s the kind of place where you feel connected to nature, and it provided the perfect backdrop for this special photo shoot.
Sophie and Kerry didn’t come alone. They brought along their son and their two playful dogs, making it not just an engagement shoot, but a family and pet shoot too! It was heartwarming to see how naturally they all fit together, and the dogs added an extra layer of joy and spontaneity to the day. If you’ve ever tried to get a dog to pose for a picture, you know it’s a bit of a challenge, but it’s also guaranteed to bring out genuine smiles and laughs – which, let’s be honest, are the best kind of photos.
Why a Pre-Wedding Shoot is a Great Idea
One of the biggest benefits of doing a pre-wedding photo shoot (and why I include it with all of my wedding photography packages), aside from getting some lovely photos of this special time, is that it gives us a chance to get to know each other before the big day. I think it’s so important for couples to feel comfortable with their photographer, and having this time together really helps with that. It’s a relaxed experience where we can chat, joke around, and get used to how things will flow on the wedding day.
For Sophie and Kerry, like many couples, there was a bit of nervousness about being in front of the camera. That’s totally normal! But by the end of the shoot, they were naturals.
Looking Ahead to the Big Day
This shoot was a wonderful preview of what’s to come for Sophie and Kerry at the Worcester Guild Hall Wedding later in the year. By the end of our time at Kinver Edge, it felt like we’d known each other for ages. That’s the best part of these pre-wedding sessions – building that connection and making sure that when the wedding day comes, it’s just like spending time with an old friend.
If you’re planning your own wedding, I can’t recommend a pre-wedding shoot enough. It’s a chance to capture some amazing memories before the big day, and it’s also a great way to ease any camera nerves you might have.
